Simafra is pleased to announce its participation in the group exhibition Ecosistemi, curated by Carlotta Mazzoli and Silvia Bellotti within the spaces of the Biagiotti Progetto Arte Foundation in Florence.
Ecosistemi stem from the desire of the Biagiotti Progetto Arte Foundation to reflect on some key issues of our times, such as waste reduction, recycling, environmental sustainability and the relationship between man and nature, in order to raise people’s awareness towards the state of our Planet and renew their desire to do their part for its safeguard.
Through the works of eight international artists – Calixto Ramirez (Mexico/Italy), Mandy Barker (UK), Miz Nakaishi (Japan), Paola Romoli Venturi (Italy), Peter Caton (UK), Riccardo Stellini (Italy), Simafra (Italy), Victoria Deblassie (USA / Italy) – the exhibition will lead the visitors along a path that winds through different views, information and ideas, where every space is designed as a small world to explore.
The group exhibition is therefore created as a succession of eight small solo exhibitions, eight worlds that interact to form one big picture. Exactly like ecosystems in nature, these microcosms exist individually and maintain a balance only through the mutual exchange of matter and energy, drawing a dense network where each wire is connected to another.
For Ecosistemi, Simafra will present his first site-specific installation, entitled “Autostima” (Self esteem).
